Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how factoring works and whether it's a fit for your business.

What is invoice factoring?

Invoice factoring lets you sell your outstanding invoices for an upfront cash advance instead of waiting for your customers to pay. We advance you a percentage of the invoice value, collect payment from your customer, and send you the remainder, minus our fee.

Is factoring a loan?

No. You're not borrowing money or taking on debt. You're selling the right to collect payment on invoices you've already earned, in exchange for immediate cash.

How much of my invoice can I get upfront?

Up to 96% of the invoice's face value, once approved. The exact advance depends on our evaluation of your business and your customer's ability to pay.

How fast can I get funded?

As fast as two days once you're approved and your invoice is verified.

Is approval based on my personal credit?

Not solely. We look primarily at your customer's ability to pay, since they're the one who owes the invoice — not just your own credit history.

What businesses qualify?

You'll generally need to invoice other businesses or government agencies, have at least $2,000 in outstanding invoices for completed work, and have no conflicting liens on those receivables.

Will my customers know I'm using a factoring company?

Yes. Since we collect payment directly from your customer as part of the process, they'll be aware you're working with a factoring partner.

What happens if my customer pays late?

Our factoring is what's called "recourse" factoring — if your customer doesn't pay, responsibility for that invoice ultimately comes back to you rather than staying with us. Each purchased invoice has a 90-day window for your customer to pay. If it's still unpaid after that, you'll be asked to repurchase the invoice — essentially returning the amount we advanced. In the meantime, we handle collection efforts on your behalf, and late fees or collection costs may apply as outlined in your factoring agreement.
